Gastric artery embolization is a temporary technique that complements existing weight-loss strategies. The POWER SLIM study will assess the safety and feasibility of gastric artery embolization to facilitate rapid weight-loss in obese patients awaiting surgical or medical interventions. This study will select morbidly obese patients who have been identified as needing to lose weight for medical reasons, to undergo gastric artery embolisation (GAE) in combination with other (standard-care) weight loss strategies such as dietary advice and regular exercise.
